Thanksgiving Countdown Day 8

What a refreshing morning it was today. The sun is out, the wind is blowing, the leaves are falling. My children are laughing, there is laughter and love in our home. My thankful heart today is for life all around.

Thanksgiving Countdown Day 7 and A Challenge

I've been taking a class for the past 2 weeks on Reading the Bible, meditation and memorization. It has been refreshing, exciting and challenging as well. I love to read my Bible. But one thing I have trouble with is reading it. I am a slow reader and I have to read things over and over again to understand it. I don't really have a reading plan for reading the Bible. I don't really have a memorization plan.  The only thing I do on a daily basis  is what I read with my boys in the morning during breakfast. If there is a verse that sticks out on that particular passage that we read then I try to meditate on it that day or during the week and try to memorize it as well. But that is really the only thing (plan) I have. So our Pastor whom facilitates this class has challenged us to be memorizing Romans chapter 8 as a church. I am on verse 25. So my challenge to you is to begin memorizing scripture. My thankful heart for today is my mind and His Word. If my mind can retain other information, then it is also capable of memorizing His Word.

Thanksgiving Countdown Day 6

Last night I had a great girl talk with one of my favorite ladies in the world. Yes, in the world. The lady you see to the right is my awesome mom. We literally went to bed at 1am, just talking about life, kids, spiritual things, etc. My mom is such a special lady. She has had great influence in my life. This lady is such a godly person and she has taught me so much. Today my thankful heart is for my mom. I have been so blessed to have a mom like her. She gives me wise and loving counsel.

Thanksgiving Countdown Day 4 and 5

Yesterday was a busy day for us. I didn't get  a chance to share what I was thankful for yesterday so I am posting 2 in 1 today. Hahaha! :) Yesterday was our last day for our homeschool co-op and has been a true blessing for us.As we where on our way to and from co-op, my son suggested we hear some songs. If you have heard about Family Seeds worship music and have'nt purchased a copy you should. I love singing these songs that are from scripture(literally) with my boys. They are fun and have a great beat and you are learning scrpture! My thankful heart for day 4 is music. I love to sing, I truly enjoy it and it makes me feel joyful.

My thankful heart for day 5 is having a husband that calls me throughout the day to see how my day is going. He calls me just because and he lets me know he is thinking of me. Love him so much!

Thanksgiving Countdown Day 3

I am a mom to three active little boys. As you can imagine, life with boys is fun and loud. Well today my Kindergartener and I went on a field trip to a doughnut place. We had a fun time, learning about how they make doughnuts and how they fill them. It was very interesting. It was so nice to spend that time with my soon to be 6 year old and leave the other two younger ones at home with my parents. I didn't feel rushed, stressed or out of my mind. Hahah!☺ My thankful heart for today is that I am thankful for having my parents here with me. They have been such a blessing and have helped me so much with the boys! Love them so much!

Thanksgiving Countdown Day 2

My son is a Kindergartener and he is learning how to read. This afternoon I had him sit quietly with a book of his choice to read. This evening after dinner, he said mom, can I read you the book I read earlier? So he brought the book and he sat next to me and read a Blues Clues book. I was so proud of him, with how much he has learned and that my efforts in homeschooling him are not in vain. So my thankful heart for day 2 is that I am thankful that the Lord has allowed me to homeschool my son  this year.

Thanksgiving Countdown

Give thanks with a grateful heart...( I love this song)

I love traditions! I love having memories from days of old!
I want my boys to have those memories as well. Something to think back on. Something to remember family by. Something they can share with their children.
Thanksgiving is only 10 days away!
These next 10 days my family and I will be writing down on different colored construction paper hearts what we are thankful for on each day. We will put these in a basket on the dining table and on Thanksgiving day we will read them all and pray together to give thanks. It can be anything. Anything that the Lord has brought to mind, or something that happened on that particular day. Anything that you've been blessed with. But the point of it all is to meditate on those things and to give thanks to the One who has given it all to us.

It has been difficult at home lately with the children and their behavior. I've been overwhelmed. But as I was in my prayer closet this morning with the Lord a soft whisper reminded me that He is always there to take all my burdens, my worries, etc. I don't have to do it all on my own. He is there to help me.
So my thankful heart for Day 1 is prayer. I am thankful that I can pray to my Father in Heaven and tell him all my worries and ask Him for help.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
