Application Not Required

jesus christ Pictures, Images and Photos
For the past year my family and I have been through different slopes in the world of INS (immigration). Filling out initial applications to begin the process of petitioning for my parents, so that they can be closer to us here in the States, has been quite a rollercoaster. There are so many applications to fill out, fees to pay, traveling to do, translating legal documents, sending documents through the mail and paying more fees. Phew! So glad this oddysey is over. But the sacrifice was worth it.

As I think about all the preparation for all the documents that are required, investigation going on through the process, interviews with INS to see if my family is eligible to move here, makes me think of my salvation in Jesus Christ.

When you come to the Lord, there are no requirements. No investigation. No fees to pay. No traveling to do. No sacrifices to make. He is waiting with open arms to take us in, just as we are. With all our problems, with all are difficulties, with all our baggage. You don't have to move a finger or change a thing to be eligible to be God's children or for what the Lord offers which is the free gift of salvation.
The ultimate sacrifice - done. The fee - payment for our sin - done.

But there is only one requirement, and it is found in Romans 10:9-10  "That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Thank you Lord for sending your Son Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for my sin. Thank you that I don't have to change  or do anything  or fill out an application for you to accept. Thank you for my salvation and for the price paid.

Delighted to meet you today. I hope you don't mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you. This looks like a delightful spot to slip off my shoes and drench myself in God's goodness.

Splashin,
