The Concern For My Height, and a Truth told

Life has been busy lately. The calendar has been filled with activities, vacations, meetings, recitals, doctors appointments and the list goes on. My husband is in sales. Every day is an adventure in this type of business. You go out in hopes that your clients will buy from you everyday, so that you can get paid when pay period come around.

But that has not been the only thing of concern in our home. My boys have been having a great concern for my height and strength, lately. Not only are they going to be taller than me one day, but soon one of them (my 7 yr. old) surely will. I am only 5ft tall (o.k. maybe an inch less than 5ft, but I like to think I am taller ☺) My boys get excited when I can hold them or carry them, especially my 3yr. old. He has asked me, if I can carry his daddy. Of course, in response I say: "no, daddy is to big for me to carry". So he has also been concerned about who can carry his daddy.

As we are busy with the things of life, because life does happen, and also the concern of what the pay check will look like, and the concern for my height, and the concern of whether I can carry his daddy or not,  I was reminded by my three year old of a very simple and encouraging truth today.

In the morning, when we are getting ready to have breakfast, we go around the table and each one of us prays. He (my 3yr. old) has been praying for his dad to have good sales for the day. And every day when my husband comes home, my three year old asks him how his day was. He has been praying for his dad, but I also think that his concern for someone to carry his daddy has been on his mind lately too.
So today as we were driving my three year old son paused and asked:
son:  "mama, Jesus is BIG right?"
me:   "yes, He is."
son:  "so He (Jesus) can carry daddy right? because He is BIG."
me: " yes, that is right!"

This simple truth was such an encouragement for me today, as I was reminded that the God we serve, love and worship is a BIG  God. And that because of His Son Jesus, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God, and endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you (and I ) will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:2-3.
He will carry me (us)!

You know, sometimes things don't go the way we've planned, but let us be reminded that our God is a BIG God and that He will carry us through whatever things are scheduled on our calendars and through whatever concerns we may have. I pray you are encouraged today and that you allow Him to carry you!

Blessings,
♥ Karla
