A Loving Friend

"A Friend Loves At All Times" Proverbs 17:17
As I was on my way home from my doctor’s appointment, a preacher on the radio was talking about his FB experience and that he was becoming quickly popular with a lot of friend requests. He also mentioned and reminded the audience that with Jesus it wasn’t the same way.

True, He was famous or popular which ever you’d like. But because of the type of work He was doing He became popularly infamous. Many spoke bad about Him, stoned Him, even to the point of crucifying Him.

One thing he was very diligent in was being a great friend, with the little friends He had. He was always there for them. Teaching them truth and loving them, just as they were. Discipling them, taking care of them, serving them, healing them and the list goes on.
He was a friend that loved at all times. He is the kind of friend everyone wish they had.

What kind of friend are you? Are you diligent with the few friendships you have in ministering to them? Or are you seeking popularity and wanting more friends, just to have them? But what are you doing with all your friends? Are you being the kind of friend that loves at all times, like Jesus did? Are you serving and investing your time with the friendships you do have now? What are you doing about it?

I know we are busy, life happens, and we sometimes even get lazy. It takes effort to build friendships and relationships. It takes time and willingness. Are you willing to invest your time to minister to the few friends God has put in your life? Take the initiative. Call that friend that hasn’t called you or that you haven’t called. We need godly friendships in our lives to help us keep in check and to be there to give a hand and pray for each other when times are rough.
