Walking – Ready for Battle
Do you ever have a feeling that when you are walking alone you are really not alone? Do you ever feel that you are being followed by someone and you keep walking slowly and begin looking around, to see if there is anyone there? You begin to check your surroundings for safety just in case something happens?
I was having devotion time with my boys, my son loves to be read to and he is always saying, read me a story so this is the book were we stopped by in. As I began reading in the book of Job chapters 1-3 the following verse got my attention and I pray it gets yours as well.
Job chapter 1 verses 6 - 7:
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, "From where do you come?" Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.”
Friends, Satan is out roaming about on this earth and walking around on it, like a roaring lion to see whom he can devour. He is ready to strike at any given moment if we allow him to. Are we walking in the truth? In Ephesians 6:11 says: Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
This is a daily battle, Satan is following our steps and when we stumble he will be there. If we are not putting on the full armor of God we don’t stand a chance against Satan and his evil schemes, we will fall prey into his hands. So let’s spend time daily in prayer and reading His Word, so that we are ready to walk and ready for battle.
Thank you Lord that we are able to look in your Word to guide us and to teach us. Thank you that with you and in you we are secure. Amen.
